Fascinating essay. This is a very complicated issue because it involves a myriad of biological and societal factors. That which drives physical attraction is quite different from that which drives the selection of a marital companion. The phenomenon of Black male-White female relationships is similar to the phenomenon of White male-Asian female relationships. Perhaps this observation is off-base, but there appears to be winners and losers in the dynamics of human sexuality and the cultural mechanisms of romantic love.

As a person of Italian ethnicity, I’ve had relationships with women across the racial spectrum. Each were individually unique, but there was one common element. A lot of men, including myself, want tranquility and dislike unnecessary drama. I’ve found this quality extremely elusive among the women in my life. Maybe it was my fault, but that’s why I’m still single.
