Border Crossers brings together young students from segregated classrooms in New York City to explore issues of discrimination, inequality, and social justice, and to develop student leadership toward lasting social change. Despite the increasing diversity of our city’s residents, New York City has one of the most segregated school systems in the country. Students live and attend school in neighborhoods that are blocks away, but miles apart in terms of access to resources.
